Friday Happy Hour - 5 Stars
This should be in the "bars" section for its packed-house happy hour Friday afternoons until 10pm. The rooftop view is spectacular, the crowd is friendly with a few new tourists visiting each week, the drinks and free food hit the spot, and the location is convenient to the rest of Hillcrest dining and nightlife options.
Great historic hotel
Opened in 1926, it showed its age with worn out furniture, facing noisy streets and with no heating or central conditioning. Bathrooms are small but rooms are huge, beds large, linen is fresh. Service is friendly. The location is unbeatable, close to Balboa Park and Hillcrest with numerous restaurants and clubs nearby. The highpoint has to be the free and very good breakfast daily from the roof with an incredible view of San Diego and the ocean. If you love old buildings and can stand some inconvenience, this is the place for you. I almost forgot, there is a social mixing on Friday evening very well attended by gay people.
The highlight of our vacation
We spent 3 days in San Francisco and 2 in San Diego at the Park Manor. SD was by far the hight light of our trip. The suite was fantastic and the views were superb. I recommend Park Manor to anyone visiting San Diego. The staff was quite friendly and helpful.
I'm coming Park Manor Suites
It's perfect, really close to gay district and with kitchen which means for Italian: let's cook for american friends :-)!!!!
Great service, great position, great room.
Stayed here in June 2010. had a one room suit and it was really nice. very clean and roomy and nice old fashoned furniture. very friendly staff and walking distance to gay clubs in Hillcrest area. I will definately stay again if I get it at the same reasonable price.
