Great Place
Fun, great servers and bartenders, food is good, and they treat everyone with respect!
Great Place, Great Drinks, Sit on Patio and Boywatch
Mediocre Food, great drinks, Amazing Staff, margaritas are my favorite, they have great day specials and Happy Hour specials, always busy here on weekends, Fun for Birthdays.
Am-bar-dextrous
Since the day it opened, Baja Betty's (formerly Margarita Mary's) was immediately filled with drinkers and diners on every night. Almost unheard of for either restaurants or bars, let alone hybrids, this instant success continues years later. It's hard to get a seat at the bar, but order an appetizer with the numerous drink choices and grab a table inside (where it's always a bachelorette-party atmosphere) or out (where the sidewalk-watching is as refreshing as the bottomless champagne on Sunday brunch). When no other place is busy on Mondays, Baja Betty's draws in the masses with a half-price menu that keeps the place as busy as ever. The food isn't top-rate, and the prices aren't low, but the mood is reliably festive, and flexible enough for a business lunch, a romantic brunch, or a night out with friends. Even the straight people love it (but they're always outnumbered)!
Fun people, Amazing food
I had Paco's taco salad and it was DELICIOUS! ;) You know what I mean.
The atmosphere was fun, I will definitely return.
Bad Food & Service
The food is basic mex-type, not at all Mexican food. It mostly starches and heavy meats and fats. The drink were good, but there are better clubs. The service was slow, unless you know the gang that works there. The price are average for the area. I wouldn't waste my time there again.
Nothing bad on the menu
Great friendly staff reflects great friendly owners. I'm pleased to support them. Appetizers can often serve as meals and dinner for two w/out drinks can be as low as $15.
Great food and very friendly people
I recently spent a week in San Diego for the Christmas holiday. During that time my friends were working so I had lots of time on my hands. I had already met the primary bar tender, Paco, on my first day so I went back. Well, it turned into a daily event due to the extremely friendly atmosphere and good food. Every day I had the fish taco platter and a couple of beers (or more). Paco was extremely friendly and fun to talk to and made my visit ever more pleasant. I met one of the owners, Chris, who was also very nice and immediately friendly. Ricardo (Junior) the host was hot, and also friendly. I would strongly recommend Baja Betty's to anyone visiting San Diego. I definitely will return at every opportunity.
