Baja Betty's

(200 Ratings)
Gayborhood favorite
This Mexican spot is just plain fun. Betty's is a gayborhood fave, with great drink specials and food, as well as the occasional special event.

Bad Food & Service

The food is basic mex-type, not at all Mexican food. It mostly starches and heavy meats and fats. The drink were good, but there are better clubs. The service was slow, unless you know the gang that works there. The price are average for the area. I wouldn't waste my time there again.

Nothing bad on the menu

Great friendly staff reflects great friendly owners. I'm pleased to support them. Appetizers can often serve as meals and dinner for two w/out drinks can be as low as $15.

Great food and very friendly people

I recently spent a week in San Diego for the Christmas holiday. During that time my friends were working so I had lots of time on my hands. I had already met the primary bar tender, Paco, on my first day so I went back. Well, it turned into a daily event due to the extremely friendly atmosphere and good food. Every day I had the fish taco platter and a couple of beers (or more). Paco was extremely friendly and fun to talk to and made my visit ever more pleasant. I met one of the owners, Chris, who was also very nice and immediately friendly. Ricardo (Junior) the host was hot, and also friendly. I would strongly recommend Baja Betty's to anyone visiting San Diego. I definitely will return at every opportunity.

New to SD, Loved the atmostphere/food

When driving through Hillcrest a local suggested we eat here. We are brand new to CA and truly enjoyed the food, staff, and atmosphere. Very upbeat, fun, great drinks.
