Probably the most famous nude beach in America, Blacks Beach is also San Diegos popular gay destinationimagine that. It requires a bit of a hike down, but once you reach the bottom, hang right for the gay section. On a warm weekend day (or any day in the Summer) you can expect to find all types relaxing on the shore--from see-and-be-seen speedo clad queens to gay surfers in board shorts. And of course there are those who prefer to wear nothing at all. Bring a boogie board and keep an eye out for dolphins; they're known to get mighty close to the shore, especially when ocean temperatures rise. And please, take your trash with you!

nice but a bit over rated
As a nude beach enthusiast , and one who has visited many nude beaches in North America i would rank blacks beach as very nice, but not the top and best nude beach. Ok , so I went during a regular weekday and not on a Sunday. But still the weather was warm and the sun was out , I expected a bigger crowd. The nude gay area in San fransisco at Marshall's beach was jammed packed on a Friday....the nude beach in Toronto was full on a Monday....... One other note ....if you are looking for any action or play, forget it. Everyone is very well behaved. That's not exactly the report I heard from other visitors. But once again it was an average Wednesday afternoon. Even the gay beach in Chicago which isn't clothing optional has more action and frivolity on a warm weekday afternoon. I still had some fun here and enjoyed the little bit of eye candy ...at least 20 nude guys who were in decent shape. But I needed to walk around a lot to see em all. And to get a closer look at them, I needed to find some excuse to come closer to them...like..."do you have the time" ? Or some other silly question. Read my reviews about the nude beaches in Miami, Toronto, SF, NYC...which I think have more to offer. My opinion is based on only one visit to Blacks beach, so it doesn't hold much water. I would like to return to Blacks beach on a warm Sunday afternoon to get the full flavor of this pretty pl

Blacks is my first choice whenever choosing what beach to go to. The sand is perfect and with the cliff behind you it doesn't get to hot and even when it's cooler you can still enjoy this beach. Always looking for other gay guys who like to be open and nude.

Three trails: beginner, intermediate, and gay (advanced)
Once you arrive at the Torrey Pines gliderport, you've reached the main (intermediate) trail. It's the easiest to hike down (none are easy to hike up, so be sure you're prepared for a workout on the way back), but it also drops you in the middle of the straight section of Blacks Beach. Like many nude beaches, mostly nude men who aren't in shape run around naked, but a few hot guys (and even fewer women) can be seen as well. Many more guys are found in the gay section about a half mile north. It can be reached directly from the advanced trail, which is merely a dirt path at the north end of the parking lot north of the gliderport. This trail is even harder to climb back up, without the assistance of ropes, railroad tie steps, etc. that are found on the main trail. The beginner route is accessed by taking Torrey Pines about a half mile south of the gliderport entrance to La Jolla Farms road, follow the signs instructing where you can or cannot park, then walk to the entrance where a paved path winds down to the beach for easy access (but you'll need to hike over a mile to reach the gay part of the beach up north). Due to the hike, this is an exclusive area that not everyone visits, but it's worth the effort if you like sun, sand, and a semi-naked environment (just stay out of the bushes; it's illegal.)

No Reviews About Sandy Hook NJ
They call this beach a clothing optional beach I would say 65% nudity and 35 % clothing Even I put my swim trunks back on at times I did not get burned until the end my feet got hit the hardest. I hardly got any suntan or burn in frontal portion of my body. I wish there was review about this beach It is controlled by the Federal government which is the Department of Interior I feel this beach needs a review It is a really nice beach on the North East Coast Not many clothing optional beaches on the East Coast.

      Good any time of year
This is a great beach anytime of year. I have been there in summer or winter. Water is coldish, but not too cold to swim in in January I think. Stay out of the dunes. I was there a few years back and was warned about it and saw people getting dragged off by under cover cops. Very rude scene that way, but the beach is great other than a little kelp in the water. Torry Pines ia a good way to get there if you like a little hiking, check the tides though as it can be hard to get around a point of rocks if it is in and at a high level. From the hang gliding cliffs at La Jolla is faster but its a bit gamy getting down and back up that steep cliff. Great place to lay out and get some sun though as its not too hot and you don't have to get in the cool water if you don't want to get wet or cool off.

It's difficult to find because it's not on a map but ask the locals how to get there and you won't regret it. Lots of hot men struting there nakedness for all to see in the "gay section" of the beach.

      OVERVIEW - LOCATION & EXPECTATIONS
Its really the only gay beach in San Diego and its nude, if you choose to be. Getting to it is similar to following a hidden treasure map. Look for Torrey Pines Gliderport. Its off hwy 5 at UCSD. Youll pass the glider port on an open bumpy dirt parking area. Go to the farthest Northern end and park. Youll see the small sign pointing to the trail. Its a "goat trail" along a steep cliff, which keeps the gawkers outs. The alternate easier route is to park at the glider port and take the path to the left of the Port. Then walk the beach North until you see naked sexy people You cant miss em. Theyll be just past the naked volleyball players. Pack sandals for the beach. But wear sneakers or similar grip shoes because of the narrow dirt cliff. Also, its an isolated beach. Going back up the cliff, or the side path of the Port, is a trek that you wont want to repeat twice. Bring plenty of water & some food. If youre there at sunset youll get to see a lot more. You might want to check the marine layer forecast. It can be sunny in Hillcrest, but cloudy at the beach. There are webcams at http://www.blacksbeach.org/

Great HOT bodies and some other ones also!
The best way to find this beach is to ask a bartender or anyone at a bar, or go to their website. It's all about nudity and there is plenty of it there. As in all cases, just beware.

      It's a Hike, But It's Worth It!
This is one great beach! I was not able to see the Black's Beach Bares, the clothing-optional volleyball players, but the mental image of them is really hot! A note on getting there: I entered Black's Beach by way of the Torrey Pines Gliderport and then hiked down the cliff. If you take this route, be sure to wear hiking boots for your safety. Pack your flip-flops or sandals or sneakers in your beach bag, but don't try going down the cliff wearing them. Once you get to the beach, the eye candy is everywhere! You're gonna love it!

      A must visit for SD
This is a truly stunning spot. If you aren't bothered by the clothing optional mentality, a visit to Black's will give you the best San Diego has to offer. Just drive along the dirt road as far as you can, and you'll find the somewhat sketchy path leading down to the coast. Beautiful sweeping views accompany your trek down, and a flock of gay sunbathers await you at the bottom.
