Rich's

(348 Ratings)
Hillcrest hot spot

Touted as the largest and oldest of San Diego's nightclubs, it's no wonder that Rich's is San Diego's most popular. Find a cute crowd dancing to the house and pop remixes all night.

Snooty doorman. It's al about "who" they want in. Go somewhere else1

They said I could not enter because I was drunk. Their judgement was because how I got out of the cab. Ummm, I am 60 years old. I get out of cabs slowly and awkwardly. It is what happens at 60. It is about the age of the people they want in or something I don't understand. Any way, if you are over 19 go some where else.

Most horrid security ever- Not!!!

Imagine your first cobtact with the gay community is This club and imagine that you flew 3500 miles just to be SoCal. Well, that's my case. Now, imagine feeling assaulted by a heterosexual asshole who doesn't have more than a bachelors degree and thinks he's all that hot And important. Couldn't make being a cop, so the next best thing is a 300$ security course and club security. I was told the bar was not letting anyone in past 1:00am. When I confronted the security they were evasive and never really gave me a str8 answer. Instead he said unless I'm a police officer then we were done talking. My take on it is that It's a sort of face police security, so if your cute and skinny and assimilate well with the locals, you should do very well. I unfortunately don't fit in the standard model of beauty and hence Maybe thats why I was turned away. My moral of the story is if your someone who enjoys being turned down and disrespected because of whatever, then this place is worth it's weight in gold. If your looking to pick up cute boys, maybe wait until the club closes at 2pm and pick them up on the street as they exit. Otherwise, forget this orange county type club filled with attitude and ignorance. Another thing, I had not drunk and I was dress with bleu jeans, a black shirt, a coat with hoodie and I had boots on. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, do you? Anyway, fuckin club left me feeling profoundly hurt and upset and as I'm writing this feedback, I just feel like going back home to New York. Not worth it.

Bartenders need an attitude adjustment

From the minute you arrive at this place is it filled with attitude! From the Doorman to the bartenders... Not one person in that bar is friendly... I don't know why the Hot Boys keep coming back to this place....
