Hash House a Go Go

100% love it
Huge servings of "twisted farm food"
This fun, funky restaurant serves up huge portions of good ol' American comfort food with creative flavors. Though best known for huge pancakes, waffles and hashes, dinner is equally innovative and tasty with items like the sage fried chicken. This place gets packed on the weekends, especially for breakfast, so consider making reservations.

    • Come Hungry!
To echo previous reviews – portions are HUGE served on large heavy plates, but still good quality. For weekend breakfast/brunch, be prepared for long wait times (at least 30 minutes). If you’re up for some carbs, try the mango coconut flapjacks. And another popular speciality is the sage fried chicken And Bacon waffle. A mixed crowd – actually mostly straight, although obviously gay friendly (this is Hillcrest). Although weekend mornings are very hectic/busy here – service was surprisingly fast thanks to the experienced waitstaff well-prepared for the morning’s breakfast triage. So go ahead – eat up! You can hit the 24 hour fitness a few blocks away to work it off.

You have to try this place
Make sure you have a place to keep leftovers because you're going to want them after the bars. The food is fantastic for both size and taste. We went for dinner and came back for breakfast...bring your camera to show your friends back home.

      Great neighborhood find!
The serving sizes are enormous, the presentation is fabulous!...and the food tastes great! Intimate setting, nice service. Visiting San Diego, we stumbled on this restaurant as we were driving up 5th away from the crowd (and lack of parking options!) at the Gas Lamp. What a nice treat to find this one :->
