Glam and chill

Popular gathering spot for parties/groups, SRO has an old school vibe, with dark red walls, mirrors, chandeliers, and drag queens.

SRO Lounge a home away from home

I have read the reviews and What I can say about the SRO is that for me it was a home away from home on Friday and Saturdays it is truley a place for the transgender world to go and feel acceptance and to many who feel they are transgender but have no clue as what way to go the girls there are very helpful resources. Ray ray the bartender is very kind and sweet and eager to make you feel welcomed he is also good about remembering your name so that the next time you come in you wont feel like a stranger. Girls there are the lerking men but i tried to take it as a flattering thing rather than make it a negative thing. over all SRO won me over I dont even spend much time in hillcrest anymore sro is my home away from home

Dark and dingy

If your a Trans-woman avoid it, it's a meat market. Was in one time and had a drunk guy lean over my shoulder and ask me back to his place. The other few times were not much better.

Buffet

The friday buffet is very much worth it, excellent food!! And the crowd is a misture of young and older, with a bit more emphasis on older.....in 1987, it was the first gay bar I entered without being with other people
