Accusations of racial profiling and inappropriate use of force have been expressed. Incidents of misconduct have been highly publicized. Community advocates have called for accountability; law enforcement has at times felt unfairly attacked, misunderstood, under-appreciated and under-resourced for a potentially stressful and very dangerous job.
