What the???
Just arrived in San Diego after traveling all day and what were we met with but a group of straight couples tying one on in a gay bar!! Did not leave a great impression for us gay guys.
Great First Stop
First time @ Flicks & First time hanging out in S.D. I went both Friday and Saturday night mid evening. Great social crowd definitely a healthy supply of hotties. Drinks at least those two nights were carefully measured but adequate. People were in general exceptionally friendly.
Dead
This place was dead last night too...bartendar said 2 words, you would think with the amount of people in there, he would have had time to talk...
Mid day with friends, or warm up before the club!
Before I write a review on a place I like to visit there many times over a period of time just to make sure my review is honest, complete and just. Ill go there to party. (get drunk duh) But also go out dance if there's a dance floor and just sip on a redbull and water. I try to meet all the staff or at least observe how they interact with each other and the patrons of the joint. So here we go. Flicks- is one of those places you may be driving by and not notice, but its worth taking a trip in. Even during the busiest times when its takes some time to get a drink. (be patient or order two!) The staff, bartenders, bar backs and security are over all just genuinely nice guys. Therese usually some sort of event held there on a daily basis weather its karaoke, or that sexy wet underwear contest. (Though the blue tarps have to go!) The bar itself is small with that cheers feeling as you walk in. The main bar is to the left spanning the entire length of the place and there's a satellite bar opposite with a pool table in front. Pretty much anywhere you are in the bar you can look up at a tv screen to catch that latest video or the must see tv event. I noticed theirs some sorta video gaming blackjack they offer, if your alone and just want to kill time with out being bothered, that may be for you. There's no dance floor, but that's okay! The atmosphere draws a crowd that geared for conversation or just about what ever your looking for. There's a patio off the street with a couple of tables and a heater but when it gets packed its standing room only! So over all for Flicks, Great staff. Drinks are good and priced to sell! The clientele is an even mix of your 20,30,40,50 somethings ready to have a chill good time.
