Cruise in for a bite
It's better than Denny's-type graveyard diners, but isn't renowned for its food as much as the cruise factor, especially the after-bar crowds on weekends. The downtown version also is open 24 hours but has a more straight-laced Gaslamp crowd, hence less cruise-ability to differentiate the standard diner fare.
Always a crowd pleaser.
We go here at least once a week and never leave unhappy. Everytime friends and family come to town we take them here. Funny is that on their next visit they remember and want to go back. You cant visit SD and not come in. Also on friday and sat nights their open 24/7 so you can get drinks with friends and grab a meal late. It is so much better than eating fast food or worse, Denny's. It is a popular gay hang out for a good meal so at times if you have a group of 4 or more you may have to wait for a seat but trust me its worth the wait. You can even sit on the lush relaxing enclosed patio and have a smoke while waiting for food. Check it out.
