Top of the Park (Closed Permanently)

(23 Ratings)
Penthouse restaurant with a great lunch menu
Located in the seventh floor penthouse of the Park Manor Hotel, Top of the Park is a great casual lunch spot with stunning views of the San Diego bay, Balboa Park and downtown. The menu is diverse and the space is great for groups.

Now at The Glass Door in Little Italy

As the former Top of the Park (and Inn at the Park, aka "Bottom") this place was listed under restaurant (okay) and hotel (ditto), but was best known as a bar - or more specifically, Friday night happy hour. If you ever went, chances are you loved it. Was also open special nights whenever the rooftop was great for fireworks, including 4th of July and New Years Eve. But now, the party continues at The Glass Door, always one of Little Italy's best brunch options, now siphoning Friday crowds from "gayer" neighborhoods. Not since the late Moby Dick's has Little Italy offered such an option.

Friday evening hot spot

For visitors, this is the place on Friday evenings between 6 - 8pm, particularly in the summer on the rooftop bar. You get a 360 view of San Diego and the ocean and usually a packed house, unless everyone is at MOs.

Stick with Friday Night happy hours.

Food is pretty bad, dining room is dingy and reminds me of an old Elks Lodge or something. Good view though!
