I cannot begin to express my anger at the management of Hillcrest Inn. I was outright lied to when I made my reservation and just short of assaulted by the front desk clerk. I traveled from Dallas and was to spend 3 nights at this place. When I arrived the parking reservation I made for my vehicle was nowhere to be found and I basically was told tuff luck. I read a bad review on this place before I made my reservation and thought I would give them a chance. I wish I had paid more attention to the warning review. This place is a dump, they only want your money and are the rudest service people I have ever experienced.

5 stars for the managments acheivment in turning this once characteristic hotel into a brothel and a filthy dirty place with the attitude "if you dont like it then leave"and leave your cash with us we dont give a shit about you.
Any problems then keep your mouth shut or you will be told your the problem and its up to your to fix it.
LOL
stay here and it will go from bad to worse.
dont park your car in thier parking lot-it will be towed.
dont inivite the tweekers into your room when they have let themselves though the secuity gate.
this is a 1 star motel with mostly transiant people getting the monthly special, the nightly rates really are a rip off and its not unlikley your c/c will get booked twice, still u better not complain because the manager will hit back at you.
Hes done a great job of destroying this once ok hotel.
and if you want sleeze and brothel then take a quality room somewhere else and go to club san diego where the trash and tweekers all hang out.
watch the dudes there -some of the employees I garuntee you are thieves.
best wishes-lol

Kind of expensive for such a dumpy little place. A few characters that are actually staying for an extended period. The hot tub was broken! The coffee was crummy. My room was clean, though outdated. Could've had nicer curtains. It had vertical blinds. Should have had blackout curtains.

I'll reluctantly come to the defense of the Hillcrest Inn. The location is great and the location is great. That disinfectant smell is weird, as are some of the clients, but I'm not above staying there if I want to stay in Hillcrest and don't want to rent a car.

This is one of those cheap sex/drug kinda hotels. The rooms literally smell. Who knows what is mashed into the filthy carpet. I saw some man urinating in the stairwell. Another guest told me he was disputing a charge for sheets that he "ruined"--per him, they were fine. I also overheard a conversation at the front desk in which someone was disputing a charge! Location isn't everything. When I told San Diego locals where I was staying they 1) Laughed 2) Raised they're eyebrows 3) Asked me how much I charge per hour. I tried to check out, but the crazy guy at the desk with the little dog said he would still have to charge for my FULL stay. I still checked out as I felt even the air I breathed in that room was dung.

The room stank like a public restroom. Sorry, the prices are fair and the crowd is nice, but you can't handle the odor.
So, what do you say?
