San Diego Remembers Matthew Shepard Candlelit Walk & Celebration

San Diego Remembers was created in 2008 to honor the memory of Matthew Shepard, who was murdered in 1998 simply because he was gay. Each year, a memorial is planned in San Diego on the second Tuesday of October to remember all victims of hate violence. This year's event is being designed to empower community members to stand up against all forms of hate, by providing tools and resources to get involved. Please join us on October 11 in Hillcrest! Candlelight Walk 7pm: Meet in the plaza at Village Hillcrest Shopping Complex on 5th Avenue between University + Washington (in front of 24 Hour Fitness) Celebration 8pm: We will walk to The Center for celebration of life.
