Since our ride falls on Pride Weekend, this month we should celebrate pride while we bike to brunch! Wear your colors if you've got them!
As usual, we will mosey along on lower-traffic roads, and the mostly flat route will be about ten miles, including the ride back to the start. There will be no shame in walking if the occasional hill is more than you care to ride up. We’ll wait for you! As usual, we will mosey along on lower-traffic roads, and the mostly flat route will be about ten miles, including the ride back to the start. There will be no shame in walking if the occasional hill is more than you care to ride up. We’ll wait for you! This ride is perfect for less confident riders, riders who are interested in socializing, and/or those who just want to feel better about eating a few extra calories because you earned it!
After all, what might be even better than this ride is a place to sit and relax after all that work! Empire House will be our destination for relaxation! We have a whole lotta space reserved for us, so let’s invite lots of bike friends to this one!

After brunch, we can ride back to the starting place for those who need to return to cars.
What’s expected of you:
Even if you're waayyy out of practice, you should know the general concept of how to ride a bike. Please ride with the group, not ahead. If you are over the age of 18, you will not be required to wear a helmet, but the use of a helmet is encouraged. Don't forget to bring a lock, and make sure your bike is in working order well before the ride, so don't wait until the last minute to dust it off from storage :)
If you plan on driving, make sure to allow time to accommodate for parking. Information about parking can be found here: http://www.balboapark.org/visit/parking
If you are unsure of where the Bea Evenson Fountain is, here is a map: http://tinyurl.com/m8sjukd
This is a regular monthly ride on the third Sunday of the month, so if you can't come this time and really want to, save the date for Sunday, August 21st.
Happy pedaling :)
