Margarat Nee and Kim Schwenk of Grrrl Zines A Go-Go will present a history of San Diego’s Punk culture from the 1970’s through the 1990’s via DIY (Do It Yourself), self published, small circulation zines. From music journalism to alternative life-styles and punk politics, we will get a first person, bottom-up perspective of one of San Diego’s ever thriving, underground movements.
There will be a zine making workshop after the presentation, participants will create a compilation zine (one page per person) which will then be added to the San Diego Public Library’s new zine collection.

The event will be in the auditorium across the patio from the main lobby of the library.

We've just found out that there is an event at Petco Park that will effect parking in the underground garage at the library. We've been told that regular parking rates will be in effect for those who park before 1pm. We've been told that increased rates (we don't know how much) will be in effect for entering the parking garage after 1pm.

First 2 hours free with validation for library users.
$1.25 for each 20 minutes or part of 20 minutes
Cash and credit card payments are accepted
