On Harvey Milk's birthday, join friends for this free annual event held in Harvey's honor, presented by San Diego Remembers.
We'll gather at the eastern end of Harvey Milk Street in the front of the San Diego LGBT Community Center for brief remarks by a special guest, take a walk of remembrance down the first street in the nation named in honor of Harvey, and then head along University Avenue to Harvey Milk's American Diner in the heart of Hillcrest for socializing, complimentary appetizers and champaigne (courtesy of the Diner), drink specials available for purchase, and a unified community toast to Harvey.
This event is open to all who wish to honor Harvey Milk on his birthday. The goal is to fill the first Harvey Milk Street in the nation with well-wishers united in remembrance, and to bring the community together in a toast to Harvey every year on his birthday, May 22.
