What we say
The place to see and be seen
On a busy weekend night you'll find Bourbon Street packed with a mostly younger, cute crowd. The "stand and model" crowd feels a little more like LA, but much friendlier. There are a number of small connected buildings and patios with a different bar and atmosphere in each area. Video monitors throughout show eye candy. The outdoor patio is reminiscent of its namesake and the upstairs pool room is a great way to escape for a quiet conversation.

A bottle of Beringer wine runs 3.33 to 5.50 and most bars charge around 3.50 a glass. I ordered a glass and got the last inch of the bottle and it was 6.00. To me, that's way over priced but there's so much stuff going on there with all the pole dancing and several bars I don't think anyone even knows what's going on. The dance room had a lot of people dancing alone and way over reactive to the music; I think they were high not drunk. Really very strange. Not much seating just a loot of people walking around and standing in places.

A fun bar with the outside patio and great music. The people are friendly and it's always a great time.

Bourbon Street was the perfect place for boy-watching with a good mix of people and lots of pretty boys. The crowd seemed a little more LA and a bit less friendly than some of the other SD spots, but overall I enjoyed it. It's in University Heights near a few other restaurants but otherwise away from the Hillcrest or North Park bars, so it's harder to barhop here.

Cold employees, frigid men, tasteless atire (as is usual in San Diego. WAY too many hags (women friends of single men who would rather not be alone). SCARY WEIRD on "bingo nite." I ran out screaming WTF !!!! I found myself longing for the style and attitude of L.A. boys rather than endure this low class lame night club gay crowd in San Diego.

I recently visited Bourbon Street and I'll have to say that I was not overly impressed. The bartenders in the back seemed to be overly engaged with their personal friends and less with those of us visiting for the first time. It too a prohibitively long time to get a dring and the bartender wasn't even friendly.
The crowd was fun so I would go back for the crowd but the owner(s) should make the staff aware of what customer service is about.
