What we say
Top-notch regional theater
Don't underestimate this incredible venue. Some of the best work in the past few decades has premiered at the Playhouse, and commitment to new works here is outstanding. With three theaters all within feet from each other, there is sure to be something for everyone.

I'm a bit biased - the Playhouse is truly near and dear to my heart. I've been going since I was a kid, and participated in their summer conservatory where I met people who I am still in touch with to this day. I've seen some of the best theater of my life here (I Am My Own Wife, 700 Sundays, The Laramie Project, etc.), oftentimes before a production reaches Broadway.

La Jolla Playhouse is the perfect place to see great theatre BEFORE it goes to Broadway, such as Jersey Boys and most recently 33 Variations. It\'s able to draw in big name without having a stuffy theatre feel. With Jai by Wolfgang Puck right next door, it\'s a great place to spend a night out.
